Al Oliver Presents Lifetime Achievement Award to His Good Friend Andre Dawson
To present former teammate and Hall of Fame player Andre Dawson with the Lifetime Achievement Award was an honor. He could have chosen someone else. But our relationship and respect has grown through the years.
Andre was a player of talent, character and integrity. A strong advocate of community service and family man. I could go on, but his name speaks for itself. He is selfless.
Enjoyed talking with Bert Blyleven who Jim Kaat presented him with the same award.
Hawk said one thing concerning me was, I taught him how to dress. The best dressed player in baseball and an avid cologne collector.
